Swedish designer Johan Lindeberg founded the J Lindeberg brand of clothing in 1996 after leaving his job as marketing director for Diesel. His new line was initially introduced both in New York and in Stockholm. The first J Lindeberg Men’s Clothing collection was showcased to a broader public during fashion week in New York in 1997. It was very well received, and garnered much attention. The show consisted of a Fall/Winter collection, highlighting both men’s golf clothing and couture men’s fashion. Since that initial offering, the line has grown to include a wide array of clothing, including women’s golf wear. J Lindeberg clothing is now marketed in over 20 countries. J Lindeberg clothing has, from its inception, been billed as a 21st century Lifestyle Clothing brand. J Lindeberg is widely known for combining high fashion tailoring, with an eye toward bringing sleek sophistication to the comfort of sportswear. It has garnered buzz both with sports figures (namely PGA golfers), as well as with some of Hollywood's most elite. The line has been featured on many red carpets, and already, in its relatively young lifespan, has won numerous awards. J Lindeberg Mens Clothing is perhaps most widely known for its golf line. The line includes fitted polo shirts, some with bold, edgy graphics. But it also includes the more classic solids and stripes.
