Thrifting might just the best way out there to find some good fashion without having to pay an arm and a leg. And fortunately, thanks to Philadelphia’s many distinct thrift and vintage stores, it doesn’t take a whole lot to look fashionable. Here’s a look at some of the many stores that stand out.

Philly AIDS Thrift

Not only is it a tremendous thrift store, it’s a store that donates a lot of its earnings to a good cause. It’s mission is to sell the lovely, useful and interesting stuff generous people donate to our thrift store and then distribute the proceeds to local organizations involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Their current main beneficiary is the AIDS Fund. The AIDS Fund distributes money to twenty-nine AIDS agencies in the five county Philadelphia region. They pass on the money we give them every month with NO administrative costs taken out. They also organize the Philadelphia AIDS Walk every October and the monthly Gay Bingo fundraiser throughout the year. Thanks, AIDS Fund!

In addition to our cash contributions, Philly AIDS Thrift provides free store vouchers to Pilly area HIV/Aids service providers for distribution to clients in need of clothing assistance and household necessities.

Once inside you’ll find an excellent assortment of clothing, highly discounted books, interesting antiques and jewelry, and a tremendous assortment of brick a brack. They also have a warehouse across the street that sales all kinds of furniture and larger items. Philly AIDS Thrift

Curiosity Shoppe

Part thrift store with great clothing buys, part store that caters to the local arts and gives artists of every kind a place to sell their wares. The Curiosity Shoppe easily caters to your curiosities by offering an impressive assortment of discounted book, clothing, candlesticks, costumes and then some. and they have the best assortment of thrifted kitchen items out there. But the whole front of the store is dedicated to selling painting, hand crafted jewelry, and bags, and other things created by local Philadelphia artists. It’s a store that truly has a lot to offer.
