The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre: Wardrobe Policies for ...

Freed Classic shoes are the official shoes of Oregon Ballet Theatre and are the only brand to be worn on stage when performing with the Company. Women performing the roles of Snow and Flowers in The Nutcracker will be given a shoe allowance of $60 if they actually perform. Checks will be given to those students after the close of The Nutcracker in January. Students may then purchase pointe shoes from our stock at a cost of $60.00 per pair. We will also order special makeup pointe shoes at a cost of $70.00 per pair. For these special orders, a deposit of half the cost of the shoes must be paid at the time the order is placed. The balance is due when the confirmation is received. The confirmation date may be as much as 3 - 4 months before your shoes will arrive, depending on the maker. Ribbon and elastic must be purchased from a local dancewear store; Wardrobe will not longer provide ribbon/elastic for free. Due to limited quantities, it will not be sold to students during The Nutcracker run. When ribbon/elastic becomes plentiful, a set will cost $5.00. A set includes 2½ yards of ribbon and 16 inches of elastic. Jet Glue is available for $10.00. Insta-Cure glue is available for $7.00.
