Deals on electronics, toys, movies, clothes, shoes and more ...
Perhaps you’ve finished your Christmas and Hanukkah shopping. For the rest of us, and for those who celebrate neither but just want good deals, rest assured that not every bargain flew the coop after Cyber Monday and Black Friday.
No, the discounts will run right up to the eve of Christmas, thus the reason for advertising blitzes and extended mall shopping hours . Here are a few deals worth noting heading into the weekend:
– Walmart has the Wii for $199, but what gives the sale a boost is the $50 Walmart gift card that comes along with the purchase. The deal lasts Dec. 5 through Dec. 12, while supplies last. Additionally, through Dec. 24 there will be a 15-20 percent discount on 25 popular video game titles.
– Amazon has the 18 days, 18 deals promotion on video games. Some of the discounts are only about $5, while others may be $15 or more.
– At Toys “R” Us, the Hannah Montana acoustic guitar is $35 off, for $45 from 3 p.m.-midnight on Dec. 4, and 6 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. The children’s VTECH Kidizoom Camera is $0, down from $60. And if you can’t get your hands on Zhu Zhu Pets, maybe the cute Pound Puppies will do; they come with a DVD and are half-off for $7.49.
– Target has a slew of deals of movies for children and families. They start at $5 and none are more than $20. The daily deal is one that is really special: A Discovery Expedition projector for $89. Regular price is $150. If you want to throw your own backyard film festival, or display video games on huge screens, this is a great idea. It expires after tonight though.
– In today’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there are two coupons for Sports Authority — $10 off a purchase of $50 or more, or $25 off a purchase of $100 or more, both of which can be redeemed through Dec 5. The Tommy Armour golf apparel is 40 percent off and the Adult NCAA hoodies are $20 (originally $45).
– AT&T has an impressive deal on BlackBerry smartphones, including the new BlackBerry Bold 9700. Current customers can get any new BlackBerry for 50 percent off after mail-in rebate and a two-year agreement. In addition, the Samsung Solstice, a touch screen phone, is free after mail-in rebate. Both offers require a new two-year agreement and are available, beginning today, for a limited time. You can make the purchase in an area store or online. Nearly all of the major mobile phone companies are running specials right now, but do keep in mind the warnings I’ve written in the past about mail-in rebates.
